Philippe AUVARO

Philippe has been a specialist Canyon Guide for over 35 years.

He previously served as Station Commander for a fire brigade of over 80 members. For more than 15 years, he was responsible for personnel management while navigating complex human, operational, and safety-critical situations.

As a professional Fire Officer and mountain rescuer, Philippe founded and managed the National Canyon Rescue School (École Nationale de Secours en Canyon). His track record includes numerous training initiatives as well as land-based and helicopter-led rescue operations.

Throughout his career, he has mastered crisis management and informed decision-making in emergency scenarios. His ability to intervene calmly during high-pressure situations and human distress is a fundamental pillar of his professional experience. These challenges have provided him with a profound understanding of human relations and enriched his perspective on social interactions.

Through specialised training throughout his journey, Philippe has developed remarkable expertise in his field.

His commitment extended beyond operational missions; he served as the Pedagogical Manager for specialised training at the Civil Protection Application School (ECASC). Furthermore, as a Technical Advisor, he provided expert counsel to the Departmental Director of Fire and Rescue Services for the Alpes-Maritimes, as well as to the Zone Prefect, covering over 13 departments in south-eastern France.

These extensive responsibilities and experiences have allowed Philippe to develop essential skills in communication, active listening, and understanding the diverse individuals he encounters.
