When Is the Best Time for Canyoning Near Nice?
The canyoning season in the Alpes-Maritimes runs from May to October. Spring descents in May and June offer exceptional water flow after snowmelt, with cooler temperatures that make long canyons like the Riolan particularly rewarding. July and August are peak season, with warm water and long days well suited to families and beginners.
September and early October are often the best months for experienced canyoneers: reduced crowds, stable weather, and river levels that reveal the geological detail of the canyon walls. Adrenaline 06 monitors conditions year-round and will advise on the best canyon for your group’s planned dates.
